I’ve become quite addicted to doing my nails, and I want to share my newly-found knowledge. I find, however, that word-of-mouth on nail colors is 98.7% more accurate than any pictures or swaths of color on the internets. So, gain some knowledge without spending the oodles of money I have! ;)
First off, Seche Vite topcoat is worth the hype. I wash my hands incessantly, and I can get 5-6 days with just tip wear. You have to apply it when your polish is still wet and basically gloop it over the edges and towards your sidewalls to keep it from shrinking (which I had NO idea was a thing, previously). It’s endlessly shiny, dries in minutes, and can take a beating!
Now for top five colors- OPI is my favorite (though I do heartily recommend Essie’s “Wicked” if you want a red that is basically black). All of the following are from OPI:
5. Midnight blue with a light blue shimmer (great TARDIS homage color)- “Yoga-ta Get this Blue!”
4. Barbie hot pink with blue-ish undertones and shimmer- “Pompeii Purple”
3. Sexy bright red with pink shimmer- “Gimme a Lido Kiss”
2. Painted my nails with the blood of my enemies- “Got the Blues for Red”

1. The color you will see me with most days, a dark plum that looks almost black, but in the light has a gorgeous red shimmer- “Black Cherry Chutney”
